“a raunchy, riotous eco-musical where ‘getting people hard for Mother Earth’ means exactly that” - Fringebiscuit
BOMBSHELL
a new comedy musical
Written by Madison Mayer
Composed by Aila Swan
Directed by Emory Kemph
Featuring Madison Mayer, Aila Swan, and Emory Kemph
From 2023-2025, I have developed BOMBSHELL, a new comedy musical, with my creative partners and friends Madison Mayer and Aila Swan. I first directed the show in New York when it premiered at the Center at West Park’s Evolution Festival. We then produced it again at CAVEAT NYC (to an SRO audience!). With some success under our belts in the states, we decided to take it across the pond and I joined the cast as well as directing. We performed in Brighton, London, and capped off our Summer ‘25 tour at the Edinburgh Fringe!
SYNOPSIS
Welcome to Club Fistfight — an rundown nightclub on the outskirts of Las Vegas. For the last year, showgirls Scarlett, Jane, and Eliza have put up bawdy eco-activist cabaret acts in their attempts to save the planet one striptease at a time. But despite their tight harmonies, raucous sketches, and efforts to make global warming hot, the club is closing. As the last show at Club Fistfight reaches a peak, Scarlett takes extreme environmental action when a shocking secret is revealed.
BOMBSHELL is about how far we'll go for love, for each other and for our planet, and who is really responsible for the end of the world.
BOMBSHELL PRESS
“There are such frequent moments of hilarity from both the witty writing and the assertive performances that my face began to hurt from smiling.” ★★★★★
- North West End UK
“This show shone brightly in both its performance and production, with energy and design second to none.” ★★★★
- Binge Fringe Magazine
“BOMBSHELL knows exactly how ridiculous it is & leans in hard. Between killer harmonies & fun choreography, the trio gleefully skewer capitalism’s big bads— Mr. Monopoly & British Gas—while sending up their own performative activism. One minute they’re birthing an iceberg; the next, they’re grappling with sex-doll Mother Nature.” ★★★★
- Fringebiscuit
“Beneath the sequins there is a sharp reminder that we really should stop drowning the world in plastic, but BOMBSHELL makes its point with such wit and wild energy that you barely notice you are being taught something. It is bold, brash and completely unforgettable. And for any men reading this, I dare you to sit in the front row. Perve.” ★★★★
